Relay with arduino/microcontroller, diode needed?

I know that you have to place a diode in parallel with a relay to use with i/o on microcontroller. Would you have to do the same with a relay board such as......

The first link has a diode across each relay D1, D2.
The second link is a Solid State Relay that do not need diodes. Because there is no coil in the relay.
