Hi,

I'm trying to get my projects off the breadboard and into the real world. I have a lot of interconnecting devices, from DIY analogue joysticks to <1.5A stepper motors, and would like to adopt a single type of cable connector for all these projects.

Requirements
* Under $7 per connector.
* circular DIN type seems like an obvious style choice.
* 4 or more conductors.
* <2Amps. <12v
* Locking: bayonet, screw, latching.
* Male and female. Options for panel mount and cable.

I usually use stereo headphone cables but often need more conductors, or largish currents. I've also tried PS/2 but would like something that locks (e.g. bayonet, screw).

I've spent a couple of hours with the Mouser catalogue. There aren't many options for under $7 per connector, but I did find a couple, like the Bulgin (comes without pins).

Just wondered if there's an option widely use amongst hobbyists.
