recommend tutorial/book, how to code program for micros

Hi
I have some experience with programming (mostly PHP and little C). Can any one here recommend tutorial and example or a good book on how to code program for micros? Is there big defenses on how to right the code depending on micro? Which are the most commonly used micros ( diffrenet manufacturer) today? Can some one name 3 or 4 of them?

The question you're asking has been asked many times before, search and browse the forums micro controller section for a while and you'll find plenty of information. Google is replete with websites that contain this information as well.

You can get loads of resources on the Tinterweb, but it depends what language you are planning on writing in.

Books are good for reference and I have a few general books, even though everything in it is available on the internet, sometimes it is just easier to read from a book.

I do have a few E-Books, but they are available in paperback form, look on Amazon.

Have you decided just which micro you want to program? AVR, PIC, TI?

That would be the first question I'd ask myself if I were you.
