its a motion detector that does not use vibration, capacitance, an oscillator, or static electricity (actually, it sort of uses static electricity). it is said to work for 50 feet, and can detect cars, humans, EVEN BIRDS!!
for anybody out there who has played halo, maybe it could somehow be modified to work like the motion detector on that game?
