real time video encryption

High kids been a few months, anybody miss me?

Setting up a security camera system that encrypts the video BEFORE it is exposed to non-volatile memory.

desired parameters:

5 hd cameras
At LEAST 128 bit encryption (a higher encryption rate would be better)
no cloud bases system
run on a private wired network

Ideally, an off the shelf dvr setup to encrypt would be best.
Another desirable solution would to have an encrypt device connected between the camera and the dvr. This might be the best solution because there would be no chance that that video was temporarily stored on non-volatile memory prior to encryption. (temp files are recoverable)

if it exists... a cam that uses https is on encrypted network i believe,
also not sure if a dvr encrypts its disks
which part are you protecting, the disk or the network stream?

i suspect that if you encrypt the stream a dvr wont work, unless you find compatible pair/decryption.

if you just want encrypted on disk then feed stream to PC and use the PC HD as dvr where it is easier
jumble and unjumble the bits however you want, # of cams supported will vary based on your processor speed and programming efficiency.

you will want to use a stream cipher (https protocol will work, but there are others)... most camera firmware images use a linux derivative but you may not be able to get root access (which would be required in order to add encryption to the OS)... try https first if the cameras have it available... since it's a wired network, then the likelihood of anybody grabbing images from the cameras is unlikely. a physical "T" inline tap would be required to "exfil" any data, and such things are visibly obvious when present. i would put the cameras and the DVR/whatever on it's own isolated network and disable any wifi devices within the scope of that separate network.
