Hi to all,

Just wondered if anyone knows if I can drive a 2N6796 FET directly from the PWM output of a PIC?

I wondered because I only have experience in driving normal transistors where the gain is important, and have never used a FET as a driver before.

The FET will be switching 20v at 350mA (a string of 1w leds) and I can't figure out the FET datasheet.

Is there a relationship between gate current/voltage with gain on FETs or is it just on or off?

Thanks for looking..........Al

Update :)

Hi Pete,

Just to let you know that the FET does indeed work ok from PIC PWM, I'm up and running now.

Thanks for the quick confirmation mate. :)
