Hi, my group is planning to use an IGBT as a switch with a PWM as an input to its gate.
We want to make an Inverter which makes a DC output to an AC using this method. We plan to pass through a 220V DC through the transistor, switch this DC on and OFF to create a squarewave through switching control.
The problem that we came upon was that when the IGBT was switching on and off its output was very small.
Shouldn't the output be near 220V at least?
since the transistor is just acting like a switch and if there are "losses" shouldnt the output be at least 200-220V?
Our output square wave was about 5-10V only...
