Hi all, i know that the formula to calculate Q factor of a inductor is Q=wL/R.

So i would like to know when we are measuring a real inductor, can we measure the R of the inductor using a multimeter and get the value then substitute it to the formula( assume frequency and L known)?

Thanks for replying

In a real-life inductor, R changes with frequency due to skin effect. This is the phenomenon where only the surface of the wire is available for current flow.
