Hi,

I am using L293D on a small car project, and I was just wondering what I frequency should the PWM should be to control motor speed.

I figure if it goes to fast, then I will run into issues with turn on and off times within the L293D, and if too slow, then it won't "average" out properly

Any ideas?

It would depend on the inductance of your motor, but most RC cars run around 8 KHz to 13.

I've run them as low as 1.2Khz, the Polu motor controllers run about 600hz to 800hz

You can try to vary it to see what's the lowest duty to get the motor turning at different periods.
