I want to convert a D.C source into a pulse..Can the job be done by using NE555 timer circuit..If yes then how?...and any other way of doing it??

Hi,

Yes it can be done but you have to be more specific about what you are doing because sometimes more accuracy is required and sometimes not.

you have to be more specific
Does pulse width or repetition rate depend on the DC source voltage? Or is the DC presence just used to trigger a single pulse? ......Or?

If the pulse is just used to turn on a bjt why do you want to change the width after and why vary the amplitude? And how is the width or amplitude affected by the DC voltage?

If this is for a voltage inverter, please state your full requirements. Don't give us the requirements in bits and pieces.
