yeah yasir i've got a new idea!!! an economical and wonderful. it depends on which cellphone or ipod you use. if you have a laptop you might have seen that the battery is composed of 6-8 li-ion cells inside similar to our walkman cells. now each battery costs $3-4 and is about 2amp rating. you can combine 3-4 batteries to form a charger for your cellphone or your ipod or in emergencies you could light a LED flash light to light up your place. now the idea is. you know lithium ion batteries ( very dangerous if not used with care). they are used in many mobile phones and ipods and many more applications. you can design a charger that can charge your ipod or cellphone( both use about 5.7 volts for charging see nokia charger rating for example). you can design the circuit put many protections for over current, over voltage, undervoltage protection(imp for li-ion batteries), and short circuit protection. your charger will also get charged from the cellphone charger. you will put a charging circuit for the charger also. when you charge the charger then if you go for an outing it could charge your ipod or cellphone from the charger. when you have a power source then charge the cellphone from the charger(you make) and you charger from the cell phone charger!! simply great. If you succeed in making this pls drop me the circuit diagram at roltex_rohit123@yahoo.com
