project circuit

hi im relatively new to electronics and im trying to make a circuit that fulfils this criteria but do not know the best pic or i/c to use or maybe more than one.

i would like the circuit to be usb rechargeable and to communicate via usb to a basic software package on a pc, the only thing i would like to program the i/c with is say 10 lines of 15 word each maximum and associate each line with a time and date to set alarms, this is basically a list that you could scroll through.

The chip must be able to use date and time and have an alarm function
and must be able to connect two a two line mini lcd or small lcd display

any help would be great as have not had a lot to do with pics

May not be exactly what you have in mind but arduino is a great little device to set up.
