Hi all,

I got an offer from a different company.
I gave the resignation to my Project manager.
He told that he will arrange for a meeting to discuss about the project.
But i do not know why he is delaying the meeting.

I asked about my relieving letter.
But he says that will be discussed in the meeting.

This is very irritating.
I fear, he should not hold my relieving.

Has anybody faced a similar problem?
Please guide me.

afaik .. once u submitted ur resignation.as per the company guidelines (remember the notice period) .the concerned authority should relieve u. also it is the responsibility of the authority to make sure to for a succesfull charge over .

I cant comment about the protocol within your company, or India in general, but I guess it cant be too much different from the UK.

If you think that the project manager is being a "bit of a weasel", send a copy of your resignation letter to the HR department, (I assume that there is one as I have no idea about the size of the company).
That way the note will be with the guys who do the hiring and firing inb the shortest time.

It could be that the project manager does not want you to leave and is working on trying to offer you a nice pay rise to persuade you to stay on with the company.

Good luck in your new job, (or old job with a nice pay rise!) :D

I used to work for United Technologies-Carrier Division. Whenever someone announced they were leaving Their computer network access was instantly cut off and their access control badge was taken out of the data base. Essentially they were locked out of everything, and a guard usually watched as they cleaned out their desk. The guard then escorted them from the building to the parking lot. Makes for a enjoyable working atmosphere.
Oh yeah...The plant is now closed..
