problem finding part equivalents on the net

I need to replace C5027-R power transistor in my power suply.

I tried to find on google, but could not find with the exact specifications that I need

Collector-Base Voltage VCBO 850 V
Collector-Emitter Voltage VCEO 800 V
Collector-Emitter Voltage VEBO 7 V
Peak Collector Current IC 3 A
Collector Current (Pulse) ICP 10 A

so 2 question:

1. In jeneral how do I look for part equivalents on the net ??
2. can you recoment any good equivalent for C5027-R??

Octopart indicates express electronics has 350 of the
Fairchild - C5027-R

But their online system does not seem to know about it. Maybe if you talk to an account rep.

hotwaterwizard, i'm sorry but it is not the same , look example to VCBO

850V for 2SC5027R and 300V for NTE399.

Why not use the original ?
