power supplies in series

Hi All,
I have this clarification, if I connect two power supplies in series and connect a load of some resistance R, because of this resistance a current flows. Now my doubt is since the load is in series same current flows through the entire circuit, this current is contributed by both the power supplies equally ? or how does the configuration basically work in terms of current contribution by both the power supplies.

Just like with two resistors in series, the current is the same in both, and total voltage is the sum of the separate voltages across each supply.
I suspect you might be somehow mixing in supplied power, which depends on the load current and voltage of each supply as well.
 
Check that the outputs are floating. e.g. not connected to earth. Sometimes power supplies have the negative terminal earthed by means of a link.
