I was hoping someone out there could help identify this mystery LED?

It was used in a old fashioned diesel pump that belonged to my grandfather which I have been hoping to refurbish. I understand it is interchangeable with RCA/Apollo DR-2000/2010 numitron tube which leads me to believe it would also be 4.5v on a B9A base. There are no markings to help identify it. If any one could help identify it would mean an awful lot. I hope I have posted this is the right section, and thank you very much for taking the time out to read.

"Old fashioned" and LED don't belong in the same sentence, at least not from my perspective.

I do not believe that entire device can be found new. However, the individual LED's can be replaced, if that is the problem.

What is the problem with it? Is it just a single LED out or a string? If it is a string, then I suspect a resistor has opened up. Can you post a picture with it lit up, preferably showing an 8?
