Usally a PLC is used in an industrial enviorment. Where a micro-contoller
is smaller and well suited for embedded situations. PLC are programmed
in "Ladder Logic" which appears very simular to industrail schematics. This
allows electrications quickly modify/change the program. Micro controller
have a very different programming language, assembly, basic, etc.

Is this what your were asking?
