I need some help on how to program a momentary stop/start button in ladder logic. My PLC program has 5 states and the 1st state is called "idle." How do I program the momentary stop/start button so that my PLC will jump to the "idle" state at anytime when the button is pressed but without having the start/stop ladder logic be in all 4 states?

program a n/o contact and latch it. when you want to change to run mode i presume.. unlatch it when you hit start or something like that. and use same address in other states with same address with oposite state so if your in idle state, contact will be passing and other states will not function. . i think that sounds right . dump a file and ill see if i can look at it and help. im new to plc as well training on allen bradley .
