Hi TO ALL

I HAVE JUST GOT A PICKIT 3 AND I AM HAVING PROBLEMS CONNECTING TO IT IN MPLAB.
WHEN I WRITE A PROGRAM TO A PIC16F767 IT FAIL'S. IT WILL NOT ENTER IN DEBUGGER MODE.

I TRIED MY PICKIT 2 AND IT WORKS FINE.

THANKS
DAVID

Yes, all that is fine. It will read a program from a pic but does not program or enter into debugger mode.

The PICkits are designed to connect directly to a header on the target PCB without a cable.
That said 6" should be fine.

Does the PK3 not need a upload of different firmware for each family of pics ie 16f, 18f etc that you are programming

Thanks for the help.
I found a problem with the cable i am using.
Made another one last night and all is working now.
