Hi,

Sorry for the second question of the night. I have brought a PICKIT3 programmer. Is there an attachment I can buy which will allow me to actually blow pics seperaly, rather than on the PCB, so for example I put the pic in a socket and burn my program to it.

Currently it looks like I can only program pics by attaching the programmer to my microcontroller pins manually. I know there may be a simple schematic board to handle this, but im short of time, so perhaps there are premade ones? My pic is specfically a 16F628A / 16F88

Regards,

James

Check out **broken link removed**.

You can buy it from them or from ebay. Look for the auctions with free shipping.

Most of the time developers want to program in circuit.

A lot of people put the PIC on a solderless bread board. I etched a board similar to what shure has but used regular sockets. It is a very low use item so the sockets do not matter. I added the resistor and bypass caps so I can debug the chip too if needed.
