pic16f84 using w02m (1.5a bridge rectifier)

mates....is it good to use w02m for the VDD and VSS for pic1684 to avoid polarity interchange?
 
Actually it is a 1A rectifier...
And yes, it would be fine to avoid connecting polarities wrong.

Do keep in mind that there will be a drop of approx. 1.4V over the rectifier.

Just one point, you shouldn't use a bridge to feed just the PIC, it should feed the entire circuit - before the regulator feeding the PIC.
 
Are you talking about just rectifying an AC signal and sending it to the PIC? In theory it works, but transformer-created AC signals have a lot of voltage variation and spikes which will cause unreliable operation or outright fry the PIC. In reality you must have a regulator.
 

I was presuming he meant using a bridge to connect a battery, to prevent connecting it the wrong way? - from the way the question was worded.
