hi there. iv been having a lot of trouble with my PIC - LCD project and i was telling a friend about it, he said it mayb because i am not using a resistor and capacitor for the oscillator of the pic. i said to him that the pic16f628 has an internal RC oscillator, and i have been configuring the "CONFIG" register by setting bits 4, 1-0 to "100" which selects "INTRC oscillator - i/o function on ra6&7" as seen in the datasheet. i say i dont need an external RC oscillator because i have set the PIC to use its built-in one running at 4Mhz i think? i say using my method i can get info to be displayed in the lcd but only the first line i cant display character on line 2,3 etc. he says i am wrong and this is the cause of all my problems. am i right or wrong?
