Hey Guys,

I'm a little lost with regards to micro controllers. I have studied them on and off for a few years now. I have written code in assembler and designed my own circuits. The problem I have is that all of my projects have been quite simple i.e. binary to hex converts, binary clocks etc. Reading these forums to see what other people are upto, I find it fascinating that people integrate their hobby micro controllers to mobile phones and gps systems etc.

I feel a bit of a fool for asking this question, but how do I take the next step to more complex projects like you guys are upto? I would say my circuit theory is ok and so to is my programming but going that extra step is proving difficult. I want to push myself and keep learning but which direction should I head?

Cheers Guys,

Talcum

Thanks guys,

Nigel - Thanks for that ill have a look. Your local to me as well :)

Jpanhalt - I did C at uni. I don't know if its worth going back to C or staying on assembly. I suppose I'm in a good situation either way. I must say LCDs and GLCD's are wetting my taste buds. Where's a good place to start?
