pic 16F84A OR 877A Based tachometer

hi..all,
can anyone give details about the bic based tachometer?
i already have 84a and 877a pic micro controllers.
hope someone will help me.

Have a look at the Microchip website, there's an application note on there for speed measurement using Capture Compare....but it wont' apply to the F84 is that pic doesnt have that feature...Doesnt mean you cant use the F84 as a tacho...
