Peak detector insertion --where??

Pic is a circuit from link for an Mp3 player for headphones using a FREQUENCY TILT circuit that will have 2 led vu displays added to circuit. Inserting the half wave peak detector circuit before the buf 634(top) or after (bottom)?.
Wish the buf634 wasn't so expensive ($8)
