Hello:

Does anybody have an idea how a corona discharge type ozone generator that is preset to 300mg/hr could be modified so to reduce the output?

Do you have a circuit diagram of it?. All you need to do is reduce the voltage it generates, but that depends on how it works.

Failing that, you could simply use 'burst fire' power control - turn it on for 10 seconds, then off for 10 seconds = 150mg/hr. Adjust the on/off ratio for your required output.
 
Thanks for the reply. No there is no schematic for it. i do believe it is a corona discharge type. Will cycling it like that cause any damage to the unit

Not knowing how it works I've no idea, but it's a standard method of providing variable power control for loads of different items - microwave ovens work in this way.
 
maybe you could post a picture of it ? try to identify the components inside?
another way that you could reduce the power it gives is to put less power intro the transformer(if it has one) or reduce the number of multiplying stages.
