I just tried the Oshonsoft PIC simulator last night and it seemed like it's a very useful tool, with all of the different modules you can connect to your virtual microcontroller. Before I drop the ~$80 for the PIC/PIC18 bundle I just wanted to ask some more experienced folks who may have already bought a license, do you still find it useful once you've got some experience and are working on more complex projects?

hi,
Yes I would recommend the Oshonsoft Simulator.
Other users also write external modules, you can write your own modules, a template is available.

EDIT:
By adjusting the timings within the simulator, you can speed up the simulations.
