Optocoupler question

I have some of these https://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/MO/MOCD208-M.pdf that I want to use to trigger my camera's shutter release.

Just trying to work out how to use them because I new to this type of device. They will be activated with a 5v supply - how much do I need to drop that too to power the infra-red diode?

thanks

hi
The emitter has Vfwd of 1.25V and it requires ~15mA, so that [5-1.25]/.015 =250R so a 220R thru 270R should be OK.
