I was named after Michael Faraday, the great electrical scientist and chemist who discovered diamagnetism and invented the first laminated core E-I transformer, among many other things.
(actually, I was named after my dad's drinking buddy who died in Mexico from a drug overdose, but I like to tell people it was Faraday)
