noppp circuit

Hi,
noppp circuit beats me. can someone help me understand the way it works? Professor Covington's web site provided some help. but still it seems to elude me as far as how the diodes in the circuit are used while reading and writing data.

You can also try SNOPPP of Douglas W. Jones at his site also. Because SNOPPP stands for SON of NOPPP. And it works under Linux. But why don't you try some other programmer?

my only reason for not trying other programmers is because already a noppp is with me(based on the hardware from Ramsey electronics). it is not working with the Linux software.
