I just popped this out of a large equipment controller. It is a black 40 pin dip with this manufacture symbol on it

Code:
~
~

one squiggly on top of the other. i have seen it before, but i can't think of what manufacture that is...

the only things that are on the chip are

Code:
+B8444
4000/C00A/14
02-849-37

and on the underside of the chip it says

Code:
L-47633(F)
MJH

Just curious. ;)

edit: it is also plastic.

I don't think so. that isn't the logo on the chip.

edit: Yep. you are right, Neal. It is manufactured by National Semiconductor. ;)

yeah, i found that, too... :p

Prob is a industrial or internal code. U could search at the company that made the equipment. Pretend u want to repair it:p. Usualy u get no answer....but ...
I got a small bag of unindentified IC's...like a HUGE-M10 for example:p
