No audio on my DVD player?

Hi my DVD player plays the video no problem but there is no sound, it worked before perfectly. It was only cheap and I am fully aware that I can buy another for less than 20 quid. However, if it can be repaired I'd like to give it a whirl!!
Any clues guys?

Check the settings, make sure it's not set to output digital audio only.

Hi, sorry not been on for a while, how would I check the settings, there are input/output ports only nothing I can physically change, do you mean within the onscreen menu?

Yes, on the menus - most DVD players have digital audio outputs, and enabling those cancels the analogue ones.
