Before you all shoot me, I have indeed read many previous threads and the FAQs of many websites but it's just confusing me;) My electronics store closes for the weekend in half an hour and I *have* to buy a programmer for PIC microcontroller today...

So do I go for PICkit2 or ICD2? It seems that PICkit2 is cheaper - what will I be missing out on if I get the PICkit2, if anything? I need to program the PIC18F2550 chips now, but I also don't want to spend money on something only to find out it doesn't program anything else. If all i have is a Windows computer, a PICKit2, and my PIC18F2550, (and connecting cables) will I be able to program the chip?

Thanks:)
