The new ATX smps do not have -5V supply whereas the motherboard are wired for -5V (a pin is present). Can someone please explain why this is so.

The old ATX of mine has a -5V wire but the new one which I bought does not a -5V wire in the connector

Memory chips in the original PC (ca. 1983) needed -5V. Although most PCs haven't used it for decades, it took a long time for it to go away.
