Hi,
I would like to know whether do I have to send clock signal to the UART?
Is it ok if I connect the UART with a crystal oscillator and will it synchronize between the receiver and transmitter of the UART ?
pls help .... !!

The 'A'in UART stands for 'Asyncronous', which means it doesn't require a seperate clock which would be 'Syncronous' - a USART (as in a PIC) includes both, and you choose which to use. Normal RS232 serial connections are asyncronous, and don't require a clock.
