Hi
Just need a little bit of help with this schematic. I need to know the purpose of the ferrite rod (circled in red) .
It looks to be a wound iron ferrite rod, but I don't know what purpose it has in the circuit.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

It presents a high impedance to AC, hence a high AC voltage at the collector of the transistor.

Hi thanks for that, can it be omitted or replaced with something commercially available ?.
As I don't know the winding details of this component.

Regards.
