Hi all, If you remember me I was posting in this forum about a year or so ago. I was an electronics enthusiast then. I am currently doing Computer Engineering and some of the subjects I chose have electronics as their prerequisite. The subject is called Electronic Devices and Circuits. Basically we have the following topics:

1. Review of transistors(BJT and FET) - I can manage this =)
2. Differential Amplifier - DC/AC analysis and some dreadful looking stuff ='(
3. OpAmps
4. OpAmps - Applications(revolves mostly around IC-741)
5. Active Filters
6. Oscillators and Converters
7. Comparators and Converters
8. Voltage Regulators
9. Specialised IC applications - IC 555 <- I like this =). I have even made some circuits using this IC(i.e. just soldered the components together =P). But didnt really understand the workings behind it

The syllabus is nice to look at. But I am really shaky when it comes to understanding the principles/workings behind electronic circuits.

I am currently referring 2 books:
1. Electronic Devices and Circuits by Milman and Halkias
2. Op Amps and Linear Integrated circuits by Thomson Leaning

Please guide me to some online resources which can help me learn these topics better. If you want specifics about any topic then please tell me.

hi thebigbasicq ive also got a course in my next semester which looks very identical to what u are going to study. the teacher has recommended us the book "Linear Integrated Circuits" by Jack Winzer. but this book is rarely available and i havent started studying it so i cannot give any comments on this.

the suggestions by grrr_arrghh and Ron H are very nice and u should follow it. there is a great explanation of the LM723 regulator IC in the book "Art of electronics". it is "THE" best book u can get. as for OpAmps, i would say that u go to TI's website and download the book "Opamps for everyone" (i cant remember the link). its a nice book on Opamps. it doesnt tell u the innards of an Opamp but it tells u the uses of opamps as a functional building block

tell me about the books u are referring to. are they good?
