Need help in fabrication of 3 Axis Robot

we're fabricating a 3 Axis Robot which pick and places the objects.
It would be great help if anyone of you people come with an idea regarding the robot as I'm new to robotics.
I need help regarding as what type of motors to be used for moving in x.y.z axis, how they'll be moving.

This would probably get better a response if you put them in the Robotics section instead.
