need help in designing a switching circuit

hello every one,
i am designing an attendance system for 8 students for a 4 credit hour subject. attendence per class is to be shown on a 7 segment. i need to design a sequential circuit which resets the counter of the total attendance each time the credit hour changes..
whereas credit hour is being entered by using decimal to BCD encoder..
and counter IC 74393 is being used.. can anyone design this cct??
