MQ-2 Gas sensor

hi all, I have a MQ-2 Gas sensor, how can I recognize lids of sensor? the right and left sides are the same.

It is symmetrical, A=B. Note in the datasheet it says A or B. Just get the heater pin (center pin correct), but it doesn't matter which end is which.

Try working from this data sheet. Hote how they label A, B, and H. It doesn't matter.

Somebody sells sockets for these things but I forgot who. Maybe Futurlec?

Who needs a socket? just make a proper "package" (Eagle) and use machined pins in the holes. Very cheap.

The socket is $0.65, OTOH, the cheapest machined pins that I could find were $0.51 ea. X6 ≠ cheap.

Some suppliers have shocking prices for such things as machined pins and sockets. Ever look at what DigiKey charges for just one of those plastic keying plugs used for header sockets?

I stocked up years ago on machined pins that were on nice little aluminum carriers. You drill the holes, put the carrier and pins in, solder, then remove carrier.

I suspect such carriers and pins still appear on the market. Electronic Goldmine doesn't seem to have any today. It does have machined pin sockets for less than $0.03 per pin. They are easily pressed from the plastic.

To me that is high quality and cheap. They have multiple uses, and so one is not stuck with a purpose made socket.
