Hi everybody.... Sorry for my English

I have a short dude, How can I get the electronic-schematic/diagram of a Motherboard Socket 7? I need it for educational use and a personal project. =)

Thanks for your time!

Intel web site offers reference designs for their product line. Check the Intel website.

does it have to be socket7 ?

if you need MB design schematic for educational purposes, check the ALIX board schematic (it is AMD Geode LX based motherboard, very small, comes in different versions, with / without vga, with / without usb, with / without miniPCI ... it is x86 compatible and you get a full motherboard schematic)

for example: PC Engines alix3c3 product file and https://www.electro-tech-online.com/custompdfs/2009/02/alix3c.pdf

ALIX boards are easy accessible all over the world (even in this god forsaken country)

Wow... I didn`t know that ALIX exist.... Thanks! it`s very useful! :)

Dude, when did it arribe to maket ? :S

I'm not sure since when the ALIX is here (I'm using them for last few years) but similar boards are available for a long time ... there are many similar manufacturers, I mentioned ALIX because I use it and I choose them as in this god forsaken country (serbia) that's the only "mini" board you can purchase in local stores. There is also a variety of miniATX boards on the market (those are not embedded systems but full PC's only small, check here: mini-itx.com - news and also check: Mini-ITX - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia )

Check some info on popular embedded platforms here: Embedded PC platforms

If you google, you can find embedded boards with "full size" PCI slot on the side (for e.g.: **broken link removed** is very popular with VoIP providers)

I already knowed waht is Pico-ITX, Mini-ITX, etc etc.... But I had no idea that AMD has a CPU for that and that it`s possible to get the schematic of thoose Motherboards.

* Is it possible to get the schematic of ALL AMD Geode based PCs ?
* Does AMD also has Pico-ITX CPUs and ChipSets ?

Thanks for all, u had been very useful! :D

You can make the miniITX, or even full size ATX MB using AMD GEODE and the existing chipset. Check the board I gave you link for (alix3c3) it has embeded vga, usb, serial, eth, ide, ram, audio .. and it has miniPCI (most miniITX do not have miniPCI) ... so it is generally "full" motherboard. The only difference is that RAM is soldered to the boards instead of having a socket for it (one can easily change that in design) ... you can even change in design not to use miniPCI but normal PCI...

The alix is not "overpacked" at all ... you can even make them smaller but GEODE cpu is great, you do not need a cooler on it, it is very very good...

With regards to schematics, no, most of the manufacturers of embedded pc's do not share schematics. For some reason, ALIX boards have free schematic to download.

these are the schematics ...

Check the pc engines site more ... you have schematics for WRAP boards too ...
