Hi,

I have a frigidaire over the range microwave and the other day it started to make a really loud buzzing noise. The only way it stops is if you unplug it and as soon as you plug it back in it starts again. The fans also sound like they come on at half speed. If you press the fan button and turn the fan on the light comes on inside the microwave and the turn table starts to go around. After reading some posts we took the magnetron out and it still does this.

Any help with what it might be would be appreciated!!

Thanks

If you took the magnetron out and it still does it it's could be a bad magnetron... Messing around with microwave ovens is a bad idea though, a completely new unit is probably in order.

If removing the mag doesn't stop it, then it's either the HD rectifier, HD protection diode (if fitted), HV capacitor, or the transformer.

But microwaves ovens are VERY dangerous devices, and you're dealing with voltages almost certain to kill you.
