The microcontroller is PIC18F452. I've connected pretty much everything, but the motor only makes a tick, and then freezes, I'm not getting any motion on the wheels
Are you sure you are compiling the code correctly?
I take it you are using a C compilier, and if its anything like the compiler that I used in my microcontrollers class, there are numerous bugs.
Source code would be very helpful in a situation like this.
