Measuring JFET IDSS

Hello everyone,
I am building a simple phono preamp using Toshiba 2SK117 JFETs and need to know how to measure the IDSS of them so I can match pairs. The best help that Google has given me is the rather vague;
Connect Gate to Source
Connect to 9-15VDC
Measure current

Now the first step I get, but where do they want me to connect the Voltage? Gate/Source or the drain? And across where do I measure the current?

Thank you very much,
Steven Paul

I guess since you want to measure IDSS you would measure it through the D to S.
As Hero999 mentioned - you probably wont match them better than the manufacturers can.

Sorry, the voltage should be connected between Source and Drain - you need to measure the current drawn D-S.
Hope this clears things up.
S.
