Material Help Needed

Hello,

I want to built a quality Gauss Gun. Using PVC pipe for a barrel does not work very well as PVC is very soft and wears out very quickly. I need material that's tough like steel but is not made out of metal or contains any metal. Does such material exist? and is it affordable ?

Google for "PE" pipes.

They are much stronger than PVC and can stand more heat.
