..just testing the board with a multi-meter, so arggg... (I didn't know you can do that)
The details.. a pc psu, I was trying to test the voltage of the diodes, so I had the meter on dc volts, the board was plugged in, I was getting ~145volts on the meter.. maybe this was wrong but I was using the case as ground (ie 0volts) and placing the red probe on the diode leg.. well next thing I knew the leg on the diode had blown off, and I noticed the fuse on the board was blown, so.. no current to the board now.
So.. err, damn, can anyone tell me why this happened? and any idea as to what I should have done?
I see ppl on youtube testing stuff all the time with meters and it doesn't happen to them. Why did I get it?
Any thoughts pls?
