anyone every try to open one of these up to replace the battery?
i Know they are still available and you can get the ones with a snap top to get access to the battery.
date codes on this has W2640x also has H992M0035 made by ST.
I'm assuming the W2640x is the date code. How do you read the date code on this ?

No,
The date code is actually H992M0035 (now obsolete),
I have replaced the batt on Dallas Semi.---chances of destruction is pretty high unless you are familiar.
