Maximal power of what? Are you asking about what load resistance will dissipate the most power for a given source (e.g. voltage & series resistance). If so, then it's a simple matter of writing out the equation for power of the load resistance (RL), then finding the maximum; maximum can be found by differentiating the power equation and solving dP/dRL=0 (or by using a graph).
