Hi guys,
As a continuation of my thread on repairing my Garmin Satnav, Im now looking for a way to extend the screen away from the main board. Im trying to integrate the satnav into the dash board of my car behind one of the air vents. The screen will nestle in the space, but theres not enough room for the main board. I thought about soldering extension wires onto the ends od the cables, but not sure how i connect them at the board end. Also, at 40 conductors, thats alot of very fine soldering. I've been trying to look for more of the cable, but Im not sure what its called, Im also worried that its one of those items you can only buy a mile of for factories.
Also as far as I can tell I can't remove it from the screen, so it would have to be an extension of some sort. If someone could point me in the right direction of some cable or what it was called it would be great. I need to extend it by maybe 20cm or so.
