AtomSoft said:Im in need of a hydraulic type component.Basically it needs to push in and out i was going to use a servo but thought let me check if there is a part like this out there first.
AtomSoft said:Actually i need just a small amount of force. I need to push something that ways like 1/8 of a pound and is like6 inches long. Sort of like how a cd tray goes in and out. In fact exactly how a cd tray goes in and out. But i need it to be able to poush many things like a row of things.
Think of a cd copy tower how there are many cd burners(trays) that open individually but i need them to all run on 1 arm. Like 1 motor controls up and down (location) of servo/hydro.. and the servo/hydro.. controls in and out. from that location

Edit: ha ha my friend just told me a great example. Have you ever seen a round CD changer? Like it spins and selects a CD and pushes it out then pulls tray back in. just notice 2/8 = 1/4

The illustration is not what I would call very descriptive or accurate.
For a more accurate description this might be a start. https://computer.howstuffworks.com/cd-burner2.htm

Thats what i have found. First it cost to much just to want to move 1/8 of a pound up and down. Weight maybe less that that also. I guess im going to have to try to use a servo for this. Thanks to all (even Rolf) for helping.
